Rebecca was the first US citizen born in former East Germany. At fourteen she left home to pursue a musical career in the States. She has played with different period ensembles all over the East Coast, including Boston's Handel Haydn Society and has performed works on gut strings ranging from Monteverdi operas to film music by Saint-Saëns to the premiere of contemporary works. She is a member of Shanghai Camerata, one of China's very first period ensembles and she recently joined Nuova Practica, a troupe of modern baroque composers and performers. Since graduating from The Juilliard School in May, Rebecca has started composing songs inspired by her love of both baroque and folk and is eager to lead her own projects that combine early music with visual art and film. Rebecca spends much of her time napping with her kitten Momo, singing Gillian Welch songs and shaking it to chaconnes like it's 1669. 🎸
Born deep in the heart of Texas, baroque cellist and viola da gamba player Sydney ZumMallen is an active freelancer who now calls New York City home. The winner of The Juilliard School's inaugural baroque cello concerto competition, Sydney made her solo debut with Juilliard415 at Alice Tully Hall in New York under the direction of Pablo Heras-Casado in the fall of 2019. Sydney received her master's degree from The Juilliard School in the spring of 2020, where she was a recipient of the Historical Performance Scholarship and a student of Phoebe Carrai. Sydney grew up not only with a heart for music, but with a deep love for cats. When she is not performing, Sydney enjoys reading, baking for her friends, and relaxing with a box of extra toasted cheez-its 🧀 and her cat, Gus 🐈
Based in New York, Macedonian-American keyboardist David Belkovski performs on both historical and modern instruments with equal comfort. In addition to regular solo appearances, which have included recent concerts in France, Italy, and Portugal, David has performed concertos with Juilliard415, the American Classical Orchestra, and the Ann Arbor Camerata, among other orchestras. David's 2021 season includes engagements with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Juilliard415, and the Boston Clavichord Society. When he isn't mucking about at the keyboard, you'll likely find David with a book 📚 and his fourth cup of coffee ☕, planning his next visit to the Met. And if that doesn't sound dorky enough, don't get him started on Greek myth!
Joshua Stauffer is a restless creative who performs music from over four centuries on a variety of plucked instruments. He began his career as an electric guitarist performing jazz and improvised music, before transitioning to the classical guitar via contemporary works and chamber music. His diverse musical interests converged when he encountered the theorbo, a large lute which performs primarily basso continuo, or improvised accompaniment, in chamber and orchestral works from the 17th and early 18th centuries. He holds degrees from the Juilliard School, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the University of the Arts. Not behind a lute? There's a good chance that you can find Joshua chasing down some miles 🏃 or immersed in a programming project 💻
